About Us

Vision

We will promote equity, identify and remove barriers, and ensure that Learning Equals Opportunity for all.

Mission

St. Leonard Elementary will provide a program of excellence committed to the academic success and positive character development of every student in a climate of collaboration between the school, home, and the entire school community.

School Motto

The 3R's - Respect, Responsibility, and the Right to Learn. This is the basis of our character education program.

School Mascot

Our school mascot is LEO the Lion. A school-wide contest was held to come up with a name for our mascot that had an academic and character meaning. In 1996, Jimmy and April Hilmer created the winning name, Learning Equals Opportunity. If we learn about academics and character and do our best, we will have many opportunities in our lives for success.

Learning
Equals
Opportunity

There is a six-foot wooden LEO that stands in our lobby to greet students each morning. The lion was designed and painted by Robin Strayer, who is a parent, of one of our students. The wooden lion was completed in 1997.
